  • Overview

    Under general supervision, perform lead warehouse duties to include:  shipping and receiving, picking and loading orders, processing orders in the system, storing, selecting and loading product for store deliveries, and other warehouse related job tasks as assigned.  Employees in this job classification perform assignments such as receiving product from vendors, scheduling deliveries, and assisting the stores with shipment issues.  This job classification requires knowledge of general distribution warehouse operations, ability to lead others and assist with the monitoring of daily workflow.




    • Operates a forklift to perform letdowns of product.
    • Operates a forklift to move, select and prepare product for shipping. Checks orders to ensure accuracy.  Loads merchandise on trailers for delivery to the stores.
    • Operates a forklift to receiving product into the warehouse.
    • Maintain records for incoming shipments. Compares amount and type of merchandise received with invoices and purchase orders.  Unload merchandise from trucks and place in designated areas.
    • Performs sanitation duties.
    • Conducts material audits.
    • Maintains inventory system.
    • Performs inventory and slot maintenance duties. Sets up new item numbers in the computer system.
    • Creates and sends invoices for store deliveries and issues credits or charges for store returns and overages.
    • Helps train new and existing employees with warehouse functions. Provides leadership and assists department supervisor with scheduling and problem solving.  Designated person in charge in supervisor’s absence.
    • Keeps supervisor informed of problems and/or opportunities.
    • Researches and responds to inquiries from store management on shipments and returned products.
    • Files a variety of records and documents.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.



    • High School Diploma or G.E.D. plus two (2) years of distribution/warehouse experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Ability to operate various material handling equipment, including forklift, pallet jack and reach truck.
    • Knowledge of general clerical practices, methods and procedures.
    • Personal computer experience including use of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
    • Ability to perform accurate math calculations, effectively use and maintain a variety of filing systems and records.
    • Ability to accurately type at a speed required for successful job performance.
    • Ability to generate work in an accurate and timely manner.
    • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
    • Ability to maintain effective working relationships.
    • Good customer service and telephone skills.

    Emp  Employees may occasionally experience the following physical demands for extended periods of time:

    • Frequently bend/stoop to lift boxes of up to 60 pounds.
    • Extensive walking and standing.
    • Viewing computer monitor.



    Wor  Work is performed in a warehouse and freezer environment.  Work is around reach trucks, pallet jacks and forklifts.  Must be flexible to work different shifts and days of the week.
