  • Overview

    Under limited supervision, the Schematic Performance Analyst creates and maintains schematics and product assortments according to Raley’s space management processes and guidelines. Schematic Performance Analysts provide database and schematic information support to stores, Category Managers, and Category Analysts. The position is accountable for timely execution of planning, analysis and development of schematics. 


    1. Executes Raley’s space management process for assigned categories in the “Destination & Routine Categories” and provides leadership to schematic performance associate analysts.
      1. Works with Category Managers and Category Analysts to position new items on store shelves in order to produce a schematic of all designated items in each appropriate section for all stores by version of the schematic.
      2. Reviews and approves all store schematics within assigned categories to ensure accuracy and thoroughness for schematic integrity .
      3. On a weekly basis, distributes schematics to select personnel as directed by the Category Manager and maintains updated schematics in Web Publishing.
      4. Responsible for issue resolution by collaborating with various internal and external teams.
    2. Creates and communicates compelling merchandise presentations which are aligned with Raley’s shelf strategies to enhance the shopping experience.
    3. Initiates assortment recommendations and space allocation solutions which positively and measurably impacts Raley’s sales and margins through proper assortment, shelf position and allocation for all items.
      1. Develops comprehensive analysis of assigned merchandise categories.
    4. Responsible for maintaining and updating all schematic product information in the database.
      1. Downloads all schematic product information from the database into a format that is used to produce and maintain schematics for each department.
      2. Downloads sales information from the database into a format that is used to review and make decision affecting the merchandising of multiple product lines.
      3. Coordinates decisions with Category Managers and Category Analysts.
      4. Produces multiple reports from the database, including space to sales, inventory and movement reports for Category Managers and Category Analysts
    5. Responsible for coordinating category initiatives by acting as point person for reset projects and communicating clear and concise information relating to projects to affected areas of the business and stakeholders.
      1. Works with Category Managers and Category Analyst in development of new or updated category initiatives that will build and advance sales.
      2. Works with vendors and Category Managers and Category Analyst on scheduling reset activities.
      3. Provides all information needed, including schematics, sign off sheets and special instructions.
      4. Communicates with stores regarding reset schedules.
    6. Travels to stores and other locations to obtain schematic information that is used to update the information database.

    High School diploma plus five (5) years of retail grocery store experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.



    Knowledge of shelf management applications such as Apollo and/or JDA/Intactix.
