A Meat Sales Clerk may have regular duties as a deli case “lead”. A meat sales clerk may fill in for the Meat/Deli “lead” and is required to work a combination of job duties depending upon the needs of the meat department. All job duties require constant physical activity at a brisk production work pace.  The Meat Sales Clerk must be physically present at his/her job site to perform all job tasks. It's a service-oriented position, with customer satisfaction being the ultimate goal. Must be at least 18 years of age.

Previous Meat or customer service experience is a plus.


Under the supervision of the Meat & Seafood Team Leader, the Meat Clerk may work in a lead position and be responsible for the management of the packaged Meat Deli section of the Meat Department. Depending upon the needs of the meat department, a meat sales clerk may perform any combination of the following job duties related to the Deli or assisting in the meat department:

  1. Operate auto-wrapping machine to wrap individual packages of meat.
  2. Provide customer service fish and/or butcher cases.
  3. Break down pallets of deli meat boxes to place on wheeled devices.
  4. Maintains back-stock areas according to department standards.
  5. Face the deli shelves.
  6. Order product.
  7. Stocks, rotates, and merchandise products according to department procedure.
  8. Mark down products
  9. Grind and tenderize meats.
  10. Gives customers direction of product location throughout the store.
  11. Maintains excellent communication with store management team and front end at all times.

Set-up and/or break down fresh fish display case.



Must be at least 18 years of age.

High school education preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must be able to frequently lift 35 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

Previous Meat or customer service experience is a plus.
