Overview

The Meat Cutter is responsible for cutting and wrapping red meat, fish, chicken, turkey and cheese for the meat case, meat deli, fish and pre-pack deli display cases. 

Responsibilities

 

 Meat cutters are tasked with assignments such as:

  • Meat Department sales
  • Opening/Closing the Meat Department
  • Grinding meats and sausages
  • Writing meat and seafood orders
  • Cutting various types of meats
  • Wrapping roasts
  • Restocking displays cases
  • Assistaing customers at the counter
  • Tenderizing meat

Qualifications

 

Education:High school diploma or equivalency required. Must have also complete a 2-year Meat Cutter Apprentice program and2 years of work experience as a Meat Cutter Apprentice.

 

Other:Must also complete a Raley’s sanitation class and food safety class.
