Compensation

The range displayed reflects the range the company reasonably expects to pay for the position. The actual compensation offered to the selected individual(s) will depend on their relevant education, training, or experience, among other bona fide factors.

Expected Minimum Pay Rate

USD $27.25/Hr.

Expected Maximum Pay Rate

USD $35.43/Hr.

Responsibilities

What You Will Do

 

The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator supports our Food Safety, Environmental Health, Risk and Safety Teams through the coordination, administration, and reporting of corporate risk programs. In this role, you will collaborate with the team to cultivate a safe and compliant work environment for team members, customers, and vendors. You will be a resource for store and facility team leaders to provide trend analysis and technical problem resolution to aid in minimizing injury, corporate exposure, liability, and property loss. 

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Provides general office support for a variety of food safety programs for retail, corporate and facility operations. 
  • Monitor and issue retail product recalls company wide.
  • Create and submit retail recall bills.
  • Assist with onboarding vendors on the CMX platform.
  • Assist with day-to-day vendor management (Pest, Chemicals, 3rd Party audits).
  • Triage through QA email inbox and follow-up as needed with partners.
  • Provides general office support for a variety of risk management programs.
  • Assist with review and approval of certificate of insurance.
  • Scan and file insurance certificates.
  • Assist Risk Management team with customer complaints.
  • Review and follow-up with store and facility incidents involving Food Safety incidents, customer QA complaints, and Vendor services to verify accurate completion.
  • Provide support to ensure facilities implement and maintain a Hazardous Waste Management Program in compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Compile information about safety violations and claims to inform corrective action decisions.
  • Research general violations and obtain information from appropriate business partners to compile relevant information.
  • Review loss data reports from third party administrator systems and create pivot tables and charts to display claim trends.
  • Provide summarized results and recommend preventive actions to Senior Risk leaders.
  • Coordinate with store and facilities leaders and third-party vendors to ensure proper safety processes are being performed and vendors are meeting service level agreements.
  • Review store and facility incident investigations reports to verify accurate completion and provide feedback to store and facility team leaders.
  • Determine appropriate courses of action for safety problems of low to medium complexity under the general guidance of Senior Safety Manager.
  • Follow-up with third-party vendors regarding hazardous waste, grip mats, supplies, etc.
  • Track issues with third-party vendors to ensure corrective actions are completed. 

Qualifications

Must Have:

  • Associates degree in relevant field and a minimum of two or more (2+) years of administrative office experience
    • OR equivalent combination of education and experience.  
  • Experience in grocery retail preferred. 
  • Basic knowledge of safety and claims management processes. 
  • Regulations and laws in public liability and safety law. 
  • Working knowledge of California Occupational Safety and Health Standards. 
  • Up to date knowledge of latest trends in public liability and safety and claims management techniques through continued education and professional development.

  • Ability to generate work in an accurate and timely manner.

Physical Demands 

  • Frequent travel to stores.
  • Sitting; frequent sedentary work. 
  • Telephone usage to communicate with internal and external customers, and vendors. 
  • Viewing computer monitor; average ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare documents, enter data into computer system and read reports from computer monitor. 
  • Keyboarding; use of fingers to make small movements such as typing and mouse usage. 
  • Ability to move freely around the stores including second-story offices, back rooms and production area
