Compensation

The range displayed reflects the range the company reasonably expects to pay for the position. The actual compensation offered to the selected individual will depend on their relevant education, training, or experience, among other bona fide factors.

 

Expected Minimum Pay Rate

USD $67,300.00/Yr.

Expected Maximum Pay Rate

USD $90,000.00/Yr.

Responsibilities

The Bookkeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and training store Bookkeepers to ensure they are equipped to perform their core responsibilities and processes. This role plays a key role in maintaining compliance with corporate, State, and Federal reporting regulations. The Bookkeeping Supervisor develops and implements policies, procedures, and system validation processes to enhance store operations and accounting, with a particular focus on Cash Control and Customer Service Office Operations. Additionally, this role manages vendor services within the store, including the administration and maintenance of service agreements, while consistently evaluating and enforcing bookkeeping standards. The position requires a solid understanding of accounting and bookkeeping procedures, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to effectively lead and train others.

  • You will develop and maintain policies and procedures to efficiently operate and maintain regulatory compliance for cash control, customer service, and vendor offices in operations.
  • You will provide support and crisis management for bookkeeping problem resolution for all stores and banners.
  • You will review P&L data and investigate any anomalies that may indicate possible bookkeeping and register theft; reporting to Finance, Store Operations and partners with Asset Protection to resolve.
  • You will partner with Asset Protection and Store Management in investigating cash shortages and bad debt expense; providing written report on findings to Asset Protection/Human Resources.
  • You will maintain effective communication and working relationships with team members, management, and operations; serving as the bookkeeping subject matter expert.

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: 

  • Associate’s degree in accounting or related field plus a minimum of five or more (5+) years’ bookkeeping experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: 

  • General knowledge of office procedures.
  • General knowledge of regulatory requirements in area of specialty.
  • Knowledge of general to complex accounting practices, methods, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of MS office applications including Excel (advanced level), Word and PowerPoint.

 

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to train and coach team members on proper accounting practices and procedures. 
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations including addition, multiplication, subtraction, and division.
  • Ability to complete work in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Demonstrated organizational, problem solving and analytical skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS - Employees may occasionally experience the following physical demands for extended periods of time:

  • Sitting
  • Viewing computer monitor
  • Keyboarding and finger dexterity for sorting/filing
  • Bending, stooping, squatting, and reaching
  • Lifting boxes and/or equipment up to 25 lbs.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work is performed in a normal business office environment. Frequent travel to store locations. On-call availability to answer Bookkeeper questions during store hours.
