Compensation

The range displayed reflects the range the company reasonably expects to pay for the position. The actual compensation offered to the selected individual will depend on their relevant education, training, or experience, among other bona fide factors.

Expected Minimum Pay Rate

USD $20.43/Hr.

Expected Maximum Pay Rate

USD $25.81/Hr.

Responsibilities

What You Will Do

 

The Health and Welfare Support Specialist is responsible for performing functions to support the accurate and timely administration of company programs which may include health & welfare, leave of absence, return to work, and retirement. The Support Specialist performs a variety of administrative duties in support of department programs and initiatives. This job classification requires general knowledge of office procedures and regulatory requirements in area of specialty, the ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills.

 

How You Will Make A Difference

  • Ensures the accuracy of timely completion of enrollments, processing of requests and communications that support the ongoing administration of programs.
  • Responds to questions and concerns from employees, managers, and vendors; researches problems and resolves issues within scope of role.
  • Performs basic research and proposes solutions.
  • Maintains documentation of issues and responses as required.
  • Provides benefits administration functions for Raley’s and subsidiary employees as required.
  • Processes forms and documents by reviewing materials for compliance, data entry of information in HRIS/Payroll System, reviewing reports and issuing correspondence, contacting team members and team leaders for information and responding to inquiries.
  • Coordinates with vendors and benefit partners to research issues, complete billing processing, and provide timely and accurate reporting.
  • Performs reconciliation activities, produces standard query reports and inputs data into systems.
  • As required, contacts team members and maintains ongoing communication through resolution of benefits cases.
  • May help identify potential assignments and accommodations that meet medical restrictions and interacts with leaders to coordinate and track accommodation requests, implementation and results.
  • Prepares legally mandated documents within the required timeframes in an accurate manner. Items relate to areas such as COBRA, EDD employment benefits and disability pay benefits.
  • Prepares and sends email, letters and other documentation as required for administration of benefits processes.
  • Complies with any applicable regulatory requirements and union contract rules as they relate to area of specialty.
  • Maintains documentation and files (paper and electronic) timely and accurately. Performs audits of files. Inserts and removes specified materials.
  • Performs a variety of office support functions which may include: phones, copy/scanning, typing correspondence and reports, sorting and distributing mail, greeting visitors, ordering office supplies, and fax distribution.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. Experience in customer service or office environment. Some college in relevant field is preferred. Or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft preferred.

Required Knowledge

  • General knowledge of office procedures.
  • General knowledge of regulatory and contract requirements in area of specialty.

Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to operate office equipment, a personal computer and related software applications including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Ability to type with sufficient speed and accuracy to perform job functions as required.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships and customer service.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations to include additions, multiplication, subtraction, division, percentages and decimals.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines in fast-paced production environment.
  • Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail oriented.

Physical Demands - Employees may occasionally experience the following physical demands for extended periods of time:

 

  • Sitting
  • Viewing computer monitor
  • Keyboarding and finger dexterity for sorting/filing
  • Bending, stooping, squatting, and reaching
  • Lifting boxes and/or equipment up to 25 lbs.
  • Frequent telephone usage

 

Work Environment

 

Work is performed in a normal business office environment in-person in West Sacramento, CA.
