Responsibilities

What You Will Do

As a Field Talent Acquisition Specialist you will provide advanced HR and Talent Acquisition support to Store Operations and Human Resources functions including: leading the strategy for seasonal recruitment, training and on-boarding, HR process reporting, and independent recommendations on current and new programs and procedure improvements. This position requires strong organizational skills, recruitment and training experience, collaboration skills, intermediate knowledge of employee policies and applicable regulations, and knowledge of Human Resources practices and business requirements. In partnership with the Raley’s Talent Acquisition team, the Field Talent Acquisition Specialist will execute unique solutions to support their assigned location(s).

 

How You will Make a Difference

  • You will develop Talent Acquisition strategies for assigned retail location(s) that align to the people strategy and the Raley’s Way and provide recommendations to Store Operations and HR leadership
    • You will remain aligned with Raley’s Respect and Inclusion objectives, develop and recommend processes, procedures, tools, ATS system changes, and guides for use by teams engaged in all phases of talent acquisition for new, hard to staff and seasonally impacted locations.
    • You will partner with Store Operations, Talent Acquisition, Learning Solutions, Marketing, Financial Services, and other key stakeholders to promote the alignment of responsibilities and team member/candidate experience branding.
    • You will Identify external agencies and organization sources for diverse candidate recruitment and outreach; while building community partnerships to ensure Raley’s workforce is representative of the communities we serve.
    • You will place and update all job postings in various medias including internet/intranet sites, colleges, social networks, community boards and staffing partners
    • You will represent the company at recruiting events (i.e., college job fairs), providing company/job information and interviewing applicants.
    • You will respond to internal and external applicant situations, and applicant requests as required
    • You will conduct regular follow-up with managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting efforts.
    • You will insure strategies and resources are compliant with relevant local and state regulations.
  • You leads the centralized coordination and project leadership of seasonal hiring activities aligned with our company vision and create detailed project plans to ensure sufficient talent is resourced and trained as needed
    • You will coordinate with Store Operations on staffing needs, position requirements and timing of hire to develop project plans and with other business partners for on-boarding, training and event planning.
    • You will oversee the utilization of our ATS and other venues to ensure that sourcing, screening and hiring workflow steps are operating efficiently and candidate experience aligns to the Raley’s Way values.
    • You will communicate with local recruitment sources to develop candidate pools that are representative of the communities we serve and promotes employment opportunities.
    • You will partner with store operations; conducts interviews, selects best qualified candidates and extends job offers.
    • You will communicate the status of team member hiring and on-boarding with all stakeholders and update project plan documents regularly to provide status of project timeline.

Must Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in human resource management, business administration or related field or equivalent combination of training and experience. 
  • Minimum of one (1) year or more of increasingly responsible talent acquisition or human resource related experience.
  • HR certification or completion of HR certification program preferred
  • Significant experience in retail store operations, preferably in a leadership capacity is preferred.
  • Technical knowledge of sourcing candidates utilizing different platforms such as social media and internet hiring to maximize the talent pool.
  • Knowledge of industry practices, federal, state and local laws and regulations related to employment law (California and Nevada)
  • Knowledge of retail or grocery store operations and the general responsibilities of occupations in all areas of store operations.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships and foster teamwork in a diverse work group.
  • Can effectively cope with change, shift gears comfortably.
  • Demonstrated ability to make persuasive presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and work with confidential information required.
  • Develop strong working relationships with external vendors, internal stakeholders, and store operations and meets expectations of internal/external customers.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS - Employees may occasionally experience the following physical demands for extended periods of time:

  •  Sitting; frequent sedentary work.
  • May require travel to and from metro areas for purposes of recruiting/job fairs. Possible extended overnight stays required depending on project needs.
  • Position may require work responsibilities outside of normal business hours
  • Telephone usage to communicate with internal and external customers, and vendors.
  • Viewing computer monitor; average ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare documents, enter data into computer system and read reports from computer monitor.
  • Keyboarding; use of fingers to make small movements - typing and mouse usage.
  • Periods of stress may occur due to the dynamics of a low ratio of active candidates in the Tahoe/Truckee location

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

 Work is mostly performed in a store environment with frequent travel to community events/job fairs within the district and corporate office for training sessions or meetings.

 

Permanent residency in California or Nevada is a condition of employment for this position. This means a job offer may be denied or rescinded and, if employed, employment may be terminated if an applicant/team member ceases to reside in California or Nevada.
