    As a Site Reliability Engineer at Raley’s, you’ll be responsible for the support of our test and production environments, including physical, virtual, and network infrastructure, as well as applications and associated data sources. Every day, you’ll help deliver highly reliable systems to 11,000+ employees across Northern California and Nevada, as they fulfill the Raley’s vision of changing the way we eat, one plate at a time.

    On a daily basis at Raley’s, our engineers are managing our Microsoft Azure presence, a number of physical data centers, a large VMWare presence, and a WAN that spans 130+ physical locations.

    The Site Reliability Engineering team is responsible for tuning and scaling software and systems and for delivering automated processes that reduce toil and technical debt, as well as availability, performance, monitoring, and incident response The primary purpose of this role’s is to build resilient, reliable and scalable database, e-commerce, and data warehouse infrastructure and platforms.

    This position requires intermediate to advanced knowledge and familiarity with infrastructure, applications, programming and database administration.


    1. *Applies intermediate level knowledge to operationalize software/systems engineering development in a DevOps team environment and the design of reliable, scalable, and observable distributed systems in the Data Platforms and Infrastructure space.
    2. *Provides input in scaling the product design architecture to support growth in IT development while keeping our systems fast and reliable.
    3. *Contributes to the development and implementation to expand infrastructure and systems capacity across multiple platforms.
    4. *Implements monitoring and alerting tools that can keep track of both system-level and business-level performance, and ensure that service disruptions are minimized.
    5. *Ensures that everything that goes to production from software or systems engineering complies with a set of general requirements like diagrams, runbooks, scripts or other methods for troubleshooting and resolving service disruptions, dependencies of other services, monitoring and logging plans, backups and possible high availability setups.
    6. *Assists at an intermediate professional level in expanding the configuration and container management infrastructure to enable rapid deployment of new services.
    7. *Collaborates with security engineering to perform security audits and assist in making recommendations/improvements to keep IT systems secure.








    ·        BA/BS or MA/MS in Computer Science or related subject or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    ·        Minimum of five (5) years of experience related to data center or applications programming or database administration or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

    ·        Demonstrated experience applying automation expertise to eliminating toil and technical debt.

    • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, OpsGenie, StatusPage.io, GitLabs, etc.
    • Database Administration: SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle (Oracle preferred)
    • Demonstrated experience with alerting and monitoring platforms: Solarwinds, Prometheus, Grafana
    • Demonstrated experience with ElasticSearch, Kibana, and Logstash, Graylog, etc.
    • Programming: Python, Go, Rust.
    • Scripting: PowerShell, Perl, bash, etc.
    • Configuration management experienceAnsible, etc.

    Work is performed in a business office environment. Occasional travel to outside locations or meetings. Ability to work extended hours, as required, in support of the company’s business needs.
