  • Overview

    The Senior Director, Service Delivery serves as the senior leader of the IT organization, under the VP of IT, responsible for the design, development, security, release and maintenance of technology systems and services for all enterprise business functions. This technical, operations-centered senior leadership role supports the transition to an agile and innovative business-oriented IT organization. This position is expected to work primarily with internal customers, building strong relationships with senior management and key stakeholders, driving innovation and differentiated IT strategy, and improving the business value of IT. This position is expected to be able to act on behalf of the VP as directed.


    • Supports the VP of IT by providing the input for the technology vision and direction for the enterprise. Oversees the development of enterprise technology standards, governance processes and performance metrics to ensure IT delivers value to the enterprise. Works with the VP of IT and business leadership team, providing in-depth technical expertise in support of enterprise-wide business decisions. Oversees the execution of high-impact, enterprise wide, strategic programs or initiatives.
    • Provides leadership in developing technology architecture, engineering, IT infrastructure planning, product development and services deployment. Oversees the effective delivery and security of application systems, computer operations and production support, system and database administration, network operations, PC/desktop support, and customer service.
    • Implements continuous-improvement programs within business enterprise guidelines. Identifies and implements best practices for optimizing IT infrastructure and operations costs, improving system performance, and ensuring service-level requirements are met. Plans, implements, directs and monitors the integration of new technologies into the enterprise.
    • Manages IT development and delivery internal and external resources to ensure day shorter term tactical, and longer-term strategic demands are successfully met. Directs IT teams of technical, professional and management staff, overseeing talent acquisition and workforce management, including hiring, training and development of staff, managing strategic vendor and partnership relationships. Facilitates communications across the IT organization, user and customer communities. Leads IT asset management team to ensure that assets achieve their full lifetime cycle value.
    • Develops and implements IT policies, procedures, and performance management processes and measures. Directs the preparation, review and consolidation of IT business plans, budgets and forecasts. Regularly reviews IT costs and cost structures for IT services and products. Ensures that financial implications of IT projects and activities are communicated to the proper IT and business executives. Directs risk evaluation and compliance management processes.

    Performs other duties as directed.





    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information systems, Business Administration, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience, plus a minimum of fifteen (15) years of broad and extensive experience in planning, organizing and coordinating IT support activities, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Five to seven years of the fifteen (15) must include leadership roles, managing multiple, large-scale, cross-functional infrastructure and operations teams or projects, and influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders.



    Extensive knowledge of application development, infrastructure planning and operations, design, and deployment, as well as system life cycle management. Expertise in budget planning, financial management and resource management. Broad knowledge of current and emerging technologies, technology directions and strategic application to business needs. Strong business acumen and business planning skills. Exceptional project management skills, including the ability to effectively deploy resources and manage multiple projects of diverse scopes in a cross-functional environment.





    Strong leadership capability, executing as appropriate in the areas of responsibility (see attachment). Ability to improve operational efficiency, service delivery and information management across all lines of business and technology platforms. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technology solutions in business terms, establish rapport and persuade others

    Work is performed in a business office environment. Occasional travel to outside locations or meetings. Ability to work extended hours, as required, in support of the company’s business needs.
