  • Overview

    Under general supervision, to provide administrative support and perform specialized clerical assignments for assigned department(s) in one or more specialty functions of the Distribution Center including monitoring various warehouse management systems. This job classification requires general knowledge of general clerical practices and procedures including scheduling systems, transportation applications and the ability to perform clerical support functions in an accurate and timely manner.



    • *Provides administrative support to assigned department(s); performs general clerical assignments.
    • *Maintains a variety of databases, registers, files, records and documents.
    • *Makes telephone contact with customers, vendors and main office to maintain communication levels.
    • *Monitors various warehouse management systems.
    • *Specialized clerical assignments/responsibilities as assigned in one or more of the following areas.
      1. Traffic
        • Schedules non-Raley’s trucks for delivery to the Distribution Center with various vendors. Negotiates with trucking lines to ensure proper timing of deliveries in order to maximize the labor scheduling efforts. Maintains and distributes accurate receiving records to supervisors.
        • Reviews freight billings for accuracy and forwards to accounting for payment.
        • Coordinates the pick-up of produce from brokers, sheds and shippers by dispatching non-Raley’s trucks in a timely manner.
      2. Shipping/Receiving
        • Creates and sends invoices for store deliveries and issues credits or charges for store returns and overages.
        • Researches and responds to inquiries from store personnel on shipments and returned products. Adjusts standard orders and arranges for express orders to be delivered.
        • Prepares VoCollect units for selection crew and checks-in units at the end of the shift.
        • Enters purchase orders and other data into a computer database, validates data and generates reports.
      3. Inventory
        • Maintains inventory system including selections and letdowns.
        • Performs inventory and slot maintenance duties. Sets up new item numbers in the computer system.

    High School Diploma or G.E.D. plus one (1) year of related work experience in applicable specialty function (i.e. traffic, transportation, shipping/receiving, inventory).



    • Knowledge of general clerical practices, methods, and procedures.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft office applications.
    • Familiarity with warehouse management systems. 


    • Computer skills including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
    • Ability to use a 10-key by touch at a fast speed.
    • Ability to perform accurate math calculations, effectively use and maintain a variety of filing systems and records.
    • Ability to accurately type at a speed required for successful job performance.
    • Ability to generate work in an accurate and timely manner.
    • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; maintains effective working relationships.
    • Good customer service and telephone skills.
