  • Overview

    Under minimal supervision, perform troubleshooting, repair and preventive maintenance on Wrapping systems, scales and other food preparation equipment. This is a customer service oriented position that provides electrical, mechanical and building maintenance support to grocery store environments.Under minimal supervision, perform troubleshooting, repair and preventive maintenance on Wrapping systems, scales and other food preparation equipment. This is a customer service oriented position that provides electrical, mechanical and building maintenance support to grocery store environments.

     

    Troubleshoot, repair and or replace electrical components relating to equipment specific manufacturers OEM specifications. Read schematics and flow charts. Single and 3 phase electrical Knowledge and testing capabilities. Use electrical test equipment that include, but not limited to multimeter, ammeter, Gas analyzer, hygrometer. Use proper safety equipment and PPE in accordance to the job. Overall visual inspection of units and ability to lube all moving parts, inspect welds, check securement, check operation of all safety switches and controls. replace or repair mechanical or electrical parts, test all safety switches and controls. Light plumbing on Natural Gas, LP Gas and water as well as light carpentry abilities.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Troubleshoot, repair and program a variety of automatic wrapping system, counter scales and printers.
    • Ability to operate a computer and related software programs including Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word and Outlook.
    • Work with fellow tradesmen or independently to electrically/mechanically troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of commercial food equipment.
    • Communicate with store management personnel regarding maintenance of equipment. 
    • You will typically leave from home each morning and work with minimal direct supervision at store sites.
    • You must have strong communication skills and have the ability to perform in a Team environment
    • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written.

    Qualifications

    • An accredited High School Diploma or GED and 2-4 years of similar electrical/mechanical experience OR
    • 3 years of commercial food equipment experience OR
    • 6+ years of similar electrical/mechanical experience
    • You must have a valid Driver’s License and ability to drive multiple hours daily
    • You will need to be able to work Overtime and On-Call as required
    • Have or have had California Weights and Measures Certification.

    Physical Demands:  Employees may occasionally experience the following physical demands for extended periods of time: 

    • Lifting 50-75 lbs. with or without assistance
    • Climbing up to 8 ft. with ladder
    • Roof access will be necessary
    • Extensive walking up to 3-5 miles/day
    • Extensive driving up to 5-6 hours/day
    • Kneeling, squatting, bending, pushing/pulling or twisting
    • Exposure to noise, heat, cold, slippery, wet, dirty conditions 

    Work Environment:  

    • Most work is performed in a store environment.
    • Some work is performed in a shop or warehouse environment.
    • Will have exposure to low temperatures and high voltage.
    • Driving to various locations or work sites.
    • On-call as needed.
