A successful Operations Team Leader engages the store team to deliver The Raley’s Way and achieve business results. The Operations Team Leader sets high standards for performance yet has fun, celebrates successes, develops and empowers a diverse team during prime time and evening hours. Communicates the store vision and engages the team members through collaboration and innovative ideas. The Team Leader uses their industry knowledge and expertise to achieve performance for the overall evening store operation, sales performance, management of team members, merchandising standards, policy and procedure compliance, safety, security, supervision, training, mentoring and any other duties as assigned.
Business Achievement and Financial Planning ● Delivers budgeted department sales and profit (P&L); controls shrink, expenses and labor. (Specific focus during evening.) ● Works with Store Team Leader/Department Team Leaders to implement plans to maximize sales and meet or exceed goals/objectives. ● Organizes, directs and controls department activities and operations. ● Discusses weekly sales and labor projections with department teams. ● Execution of weekly ad, sales/merchandise/marketing plans, inventory, displays and promotions. ● Understands and oversees compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, state and federal laws, company policies and procedures. ● Implements company/store initiatives. ● Creates a customer-centric culture by role modeling and training team members; specifically during the evening and the Assistant Team Leads ● Engages team members by bringing the Raley’s Way to life through inspiration and communication to include store/department goals, objectives, policies and procedures. ● Enables a high-performing team through effective evening department scheduling, efficient task assignment, recognition, fun, performance management and accountability. This includes documentation and performance evaluations. ● Empowers department team members to provide great customer experiences through helpful knowledge, friendly service and a caring approach (e.g. knowledge-based solutions); monitors team’s performance through reporting and customer feedback. ● Identifies and develops team members to leadership positions. ● Recognizes and seeks opportunities for continuous learning to gain understandings, front end skills and knowledge ● Maintains the security of the stores through Asset Protection collaboration. Easy Shopping Experience ● Collaborates with Assistant Store Team Leader to execute cross-merchandising strategy and tactics to include themes/timeline/visual plans/goals. ● Assesses store conditions to determine action steps and priority to achieve afternoon showtime standards in all areas of the store. ● Works with department teams to ensure floor/cases are adequately stocked, has appropriate merchandise adjacency and presentation (signed, faced, in-stock). ● Ensures evening execution of setting seasonal displays, signing and decorating. ● Establishes clear expectations, training and accountability of a clean and organized department. ● Sets standards for an efficient and speedy full-service experience for our customers. ● Assists customers at the check-stands as needed. Best Fresh Products, Products You Want and More ● Utilizes store resources to market Raley’s unique products and service offering ● Monitors product quality, freshness and date codes. ● Maintains building and equipment to maximum operational condition. ● Provides a safe store environment by following, communicating and teaching company policies and procedures; monitors sanitation practices; corrects and coaches as appropriate. Fair and Consistent Pricing ● Acts as an ambassador/educator of the Something Extra Program for both customers and team members (e.g. program benefits); ensures accountability of Front End execution during prime time. ● Ensures store signage reflects accurate and clear pricing (e.g. scope tags, shelf signs). ● Executes value and positive price perception merchandised store.
