    The Sous Chef is a key role in operations at Raley's. The ideal candidate needs to have a level of expertise and knowledge around food preparation, healthy eating, merchandising, operations and leading a team. The Raley's team is here to make a statement about eating healthy by only offering products that fit into our high standards, and being able to educate our customers about what we sell. The ideal candidate should be excited about “real” healthy food and helping others. This team player is willing to help wherever needed and eager to engage with any customer looking for assistance.     Responsibilities

     

    • Manage ordering processes and inventory.
    • Educating customers and team members on items sold in the department.                                                                                        
    • Ownership over food safety and sanitation in the Kitchen
    • Cultivate a positive fun environment for team members
    • Openly communicate with Meat Leader and Head Cook about diverting shrink and facilitating a program for reuse in the Kitchen
    • Assist in training and development of Kitchen department
    • Manage business performance and hold yourself accountable to results
    • Hold yourself accountable to department and store standards
    • Maintaining work schedule.
    • Training and development of team and growing future leaders
    • Recipe development and managing fresh item management in ECRS
    • Develop knowledge of total store operations

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Leadership experience
    • Food Safety Certification
    • Retail Experience
    • Bakery/Kitchen knowledge

    Abilities

    • Excellent leadership and excellent interpersonal skills
    • Excellent communication skills employing a variety of styles including written, one on one, as well as speaking in front of a group
